Books on the Go
Books on the Go (BOG) is our lending library program that allows children to take home books at their "just right" level to practice reading with their families.
First graders are expected to spend 10 minutes reading aloud to an adult or responsible older sibling each day. I highly encourage your child to keep the same book for 2 or 3 days to practice a variety of reading tasks.

- take a sneak peak and make predictions
- read and decode new words
- reread to practice fluency
- retell the story in your own words
- reflect/share your favorite part of the story and tell why
- connect to the story by telling what the story reminds you of

Raz-Kids
Raz-Kids is an online library of leveled and unleveled books including fiction and non-fiction texts. Raz-Kids was designed to help students improve their reading skills as they listen to modeled fluency, read independently for practice, record and listen to their oral reading, and check their comprehension with quizzes.
