Unit 12: Multisyllabic Words
(The topics are becoming increasingly tricky!)
- clapping syllables, scooping syllables
- dividing a word into syllables between two consonants or just after a closed syllable
- identifying syllables types (closed syllables and VCE syllables)
- compound words
- the suffix -es is added to words ending with s, x, z, ch, & sh
- words with the suffix -es can be plural or an action word
- reviewing suffixes -s, -ed, -ing
Math - Unit 7: Geometry, Measurement, and Equal Shares
- telling and writing time to the hour and half hour
- naming attributes of 2-D shapes: squares, rectangles, triangles, circles
- partitioning circles, squares, and rectangles into halves and fourths to create equal shares
- naming 3-D shapes: cubes, rectangular prisms, cones, spheres, cylinders
- comparing and ordering objects by length using the words shorter and longer or shortest and longest
- measuring objects with same-size length units, such as with paperclips
Math - Money Unit
- identifying pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters
- naming the value of each coin
- exploring what is on the front and back of coins
- counting coin combinations

- what it means to survive (to grow and change)
- How do the parts of a plant help it to survive?
