P.S. A note from Mrs. Pelkey:
Children may bring a pair of sunglasses to school next week. We will be making outdoor observations of the sun in the sky. In preparation for this activity, we will have a class discussion about keeping our eyes safe and protected. I will tell the young scientists not to look directly at the sun. I will model for the class how to make a quick glance toward the direction of the sun to see where the sun's position is. We will use our hands to cover the sun when looking up at the sky. Please feel free to preview this discussion with your child over the weekend.
All the best,
Kelly
